Using Energetic Alchemy to Move Out of Comfort Zones

Moving out of any comfort zone can feel daunting, yet it's essential for personal growth and transformation - it's part of energetic alchemy. The teachings and practices within energetic alchemy are key to observing, understanding and freeing yourself from old boundaries and limitations. Let's explore how some elements of energetic arts, such as meditation, reiki, and hermeticism can facilitate this transformative journey.

Understanding Energetic Alchemy

Energetic alchemy is a form of spiritual alchemy, involving transformation of mind, emotions, behaviors and patterns - by choice. energies within and around us. It's often used as a system to support awakening, self-healing, regaining clarity, and confidence. I have also come to see it as a system of re-identification, supporting change in mindset and overcoming personal limitations.

Alchemy has been referenced in spiritual traditions throughout history, seemingly a new buzz word in the mainstream now. I personally resonated with this concept, and chose the name of my business to reflect this, because of what I began to experience through practice of Reiki, meditation, intuitive development, and hermetic studies. In this, I'm constantly exploring what energetic alchemy truly means, through my direct experiences, and how I can continue to use these principles and practices to support other seekers in their personal development.

The processes of transformation through energetic alchemy is similar to the ancient practices of alchemists who sought to turn base metals into gold, representing a metaphoric purification and enlightenment process. Essentially, energetic alchemy, as I practice and teach, follows a simple path, inspired by the system of Reiki, Hermeticism, intuitive development, and meditation:

Know Thyself: practices to support presence and reclaiming of mind, becoming a conscious observer of sacred shadows and divine illuminations

Master Thyself: practices to support self-mastery, consciously acknowledging and choosing one's thought-forms, words, actions, and energetic resonance

Become Thy True Self: practices to support sustaining and expressing true nature, through work of re-identification, embodiment and consistent expressions of higher frequencies

Through the sacred teachings and initiations, we have the ability to become more aware of true human function, relationship to subtle energies and the material realm, understanding of universal law, and reclaiming sovereignty. Foundational concepts like these, including interconnectedness, are what we explore and practice within The Alchemy Circle and Path of Self Mastery.

Historically, alchemy alchemy has found its place in various traditions, blending mystical beliefs with practical applications. Because of my love and foundation of Reiki, energetic alchemy is a more precise title for my work and teachings.

Whether you join me to study practices within the system of Reiki, teachings from hermeticism, intuitive development, rituals, or meditation techniques, the objective remains the same: to purify heart/mind intelligence, boost our vibrational frequency, understand and experience the principle of ONE, and become conscious co-creators of our life circumstances.

Often, we have an idea or feeling about what we want to experience, or what we feel called to do in our lifetime, but many of us never move beyond the vision or knowing because of personal fears, stories, and self-imposed limitations. We also have a tendency to cling to what's comfortable and familiar, even when it's no longer serving us, and/or not resonant with our true expression. This is the trap of comfort zones.

Before moving out of comfort zones, we have to identify them. These are the areas in life where you feel secure but may also be stagnating. It's the areas where you feel safe and bound to familiarity, but at the same time want to experience change. Recognizing these zones is the first step toward initiating energetic alchemy. It's an inside job, first and foremost.

Sometimes, your comfort zone can be a repetitive behavior, routine, thought-form, emotional response, or circle of connections. Our co-workers, circle of friends, and chosen environments can offer a feeling of safety but also potentially limit our growth. A telltale sign of comfort zone entrapment can be a lack of motivation or a dull routine that seems comforting yet unfulfilling. Once you recognize these zones, it's easier to challenge yourself to be honest about your why - your motivation, your story, and your willingness (or resistance) to change.

No matter where you are in your practice, you can start identifying your own comfort zones now. Make a list of situations, relationships, or activities that make you feel both secure and stagnant. This might also include your personal habits. By acknowledging these areas, you’re initiating you role in energetic alchemy, consciously engaging in your own self-management and push toward transformation that's freeing and inspiring. To be clear, it's not about abruptly leaving everything behind but rather about expanding or transforming your stories, beliefs, and boundaries to integrate new, enriching experiences into your life. This journey begins with small, deliberate steps that gradually lead you out of your comfort zones.

Meditation is also a powerful tool in energetic alchemy, helping to calm the mind, direct the mind, and open clarifying pathways for change. This openness can gently ease you out of current comfort zones. Additionally, meditative practices can increase your ability to access altered states of consciousness, where creativity and problem-solving are heightened, making it easier to envision and feel into a future beyond your current perceived limitations.

Before you say you don't have time for meditation - drop that story! This common excuse is another form of protection, giving you reason not to make change that you know will actually benefit you in some way. The truth - incorporating meditation into your daily routine doesn't demand hours; even a few minutes dedicated to stillness and intentional breathing can create significant results. This can be when you wake up, on your lunch break...pausing and stepping away from the TV or social media. There are many moments that you can take a moment to just be with you.

The System of Reiki: Self-Healing Through Energetic Transformation

Reiki, commonly known as a form of energy healing, has supported me in moving out of comfort zones in ways I hadn't planned. Because practices within the system of Reiki support release of suppressed emotions, clarity of mind, and reclaiming a fuller scope of who and what we are - I started to have the audacity to do things that I would have been resistant to in the past. The practices helped my feel more comfortable in being seen and heard, where I hadn't realized the confidence I lacked prior. I labeled myself shy and introverted, without realizing how much I actually enjoy "uncontrolled" interactions. This is what led to the start of Reiki Radio Podcast, and more recently, Awakening Airwaves, which further pushed me into the arena of collaborating more vulnerably and intimately with other teachers and practitioners. These are just two examples of how the work of energetic alchemy not only supported me in moving beyond comfort zones, but evidence of how such movement continues to add value to my life experience.

By engaging in Reiki practices, you are entrusting your mind-body to harness healing energies conducive to energetic alchemy. Many people turn to Reiki when they feel stuck or in need of a major change, just as I was guided to do after experiencing anxiety induced by the transitional phase of being laid-off and not knowing what I wanted to do next.

Like Reiki, Hermeticism posits that everything is interconnected, allowing for deeper comprehension of the unseen forces that shape the material realm and our lives. These teachings are infused into my work of energetic alchemy because they can help you understand the cyclical nature of life and how to harness these cycles to your advantage.

The teachings of hermeticism revolve around mentalism and the notion that ALL is mind. By studying these ideas, and the additional priniples, you begin to recognize the illusionary dualities that can restrict the mind. This understanding can help shatter illusions that bind you to your comfort zone, even the unconscious restrictions. Applying these philosophical tenets can also invigorate your confidence to explore new paths, knowing that each step you take is aligned with the grand scheme of the cosmos. What Is Energetic Alchemy?

Energetic Alchemy, like the practice of Spiritual Alchemy, focuses on purification that supports awakening and living in expression of our true nature. It's a practice that combines ancient wisdom, various modalities, and techniques to create harmony and balance within mind, body, emotions, and energy. I'm an Energetic Alchemist, studying and practicing for fifteen years, and I'm going to share how you can integrate these practices into your daily life.

Understanding the Essence of Energetic Alchemy

At its core, Energetic Alchemy sounds like it's all about transforming energies to create a more balanced and fulfilling life, but it actually focuses heavily on the nature of mind, which then also encompasses all aspects of our human expression - mental, emotional, energetic, and behaviors. It draws from various traditions, including Hermeticism, Reiki, Meditation, Astrology, Intuition, and the major arcana of Tarot to develop a comprehensive system that taps into the natural flow and governing principles of universal intelligence.

When I started on this path, my entry was Reiki, learning how to work with energy and learning more about the full expression of human function. I also learned to meditate, which is not separate from the system of Reiki, and this practice helped me learn more about the nature of mind and different levels of consciousness. Intuitive and psychic training were natural follow ups, as I began to clear and purify my mind, emotions, and energy (there's the alchemy), leading me to recognize intuitive insights with more clarity. I even started to feel energies and the presence of guides in more palpable ways. All of this led me into more training in energetic arts, as well as the study of Hermeticism.

Energetic Alchemy provides teachings and practices to support lifting in frequency, which is to expand in consciousness, and become one who consciously governs their own mind, body, and energy. This includes intentional alignment with universal intelligence, making it possible to create more consciously and effectively, develop more compassion and kindness, support mind and body in healing states, and engage in life with less stress and worry.

These energetic and spiritual arts invite practitioners to explore their inner landscapes, supporting personal growth by enhancing self-awareness and honoring whatever may be revealed through shadow exposure.

The Role of an Energetic Alchemist

An Energetic Alchemist is someone who practices the arts of energetic alchemy, with attention on purification of mind, body, and energy. They are space holders, guiding people through the processes of The Great Work, while also using techniques to support energetic transformation. They use various techniques to channel and direct energy, allowing themselves to become expressions of higher frequency.

In their roles as practitioners and teachers, energetic alchemists assume the role of guiding others through soul-level work. By tuning into subtle energetic frequencies, they can identify disruptions and create healing spaces to support balancing and harmonizing on all levels - mind, body and energy. This might involve using sacred energy techniques, sound, and/or intuition. Most energetic alchemists are not just practitioners but also mentors, helping others recognize their mental, emotional, and energetic blocks - offering guidance on releasing them. They are not meant to tell clients and students what to do, but support them in making their own clear decisions and choices in healing.

Principles Derived from Hermeticism

Hermeticism contributes significantly to Energetic Alchemy, offering teachings like 'As above, so below.' This wisdom reflects the interconnectedness of the universe, encouraging practitioners to nurture their relationship to divine intelligence, recognizing the divine as and in all.

One of the most intriguing aspects of Hermeticism is its path of awakening and self-realization, similar to the system of Reiki. The two sets of teachings are pointing to the same things, but from different vantage points. The same can be said of Tarot and other tools and systems within energetic arts .

In teaching, I focus on the Universal Principals, as laid out in Hermeticism, along with the framework: Know Thyself, Master Thyself, Become True Self. I also use this lens when teaching Reiki, as it all goes hand in hand.

By applying these ancient teachings, practitioners can align themselves with universal laws and harness these energies for personal transformation and conscious creation.

Reiki is energetic alchemy. It really is that simple, but when you go deeper into the various teachings and practices within the system, this becomes very evident. As mentioned above, Reiki is not just about energy balancing, it's a path of self-governance, healing, awakening, and revealing more of true nature.

What Awakens Us to Life Purpose?

In our journey through life, many of us question the deeper meaning about our existence and what truly gives our life purpose. When I started practicing Reiki and meditation, I thought the work of my spiritual practice became my purpose, but was it true? I do believe individuals can awaken to feeling more purpose in life, with insights into spiritual practices, self-discovery, and ancient wisdom - but THE life purpose may be something very simple.

Understanding Life Purpose: A Spiritual Awakening

At the heart of a fulfilling life lies experiences that cause us to feel senses of accomplishment, joy, meaning...purpose. Technically, we could say that there's purpose in all things - every decision and indecision, words spoken and unspoken, each thought and change of mind - everything reveals some aspect of one's purpose. This realization often comes through a journey of spiritual awakening, where individuals seek deeper connections with themselves and the universe. For me, it has been a process of re-identification, understanding life experience and the world around me differently.

A spiritual awakening often begins when we start questioning what we're doing with our lives, which direction we're headed in, what matters to us, and if we are living in the expressions of what feels authentic. This introspective journey can be triggered by life events, such as a personal loss or a significant change, compelling us to seek answers beyond the material realm, or for some, it's simply a curiosity - something starts to awaken and life all of a sudden feels a little uncomfortable.

When we engage in this deeper inquiry, we find ourselves exploring philosophies and spiritual practices that illuminate our path. A reading with an astrologer, after a layoff, was the catalyst for me. I was seeking direction, but even more, I was wanting to escape the feelings of worry and anxiety to that I could make a sound decision around my next steps in life. Fortunately, that astrologer recommended that I learn to meditate and have a Reiki session. Without question, I signed up for a meditation class. Out of curiosity, I googled Reiki and decided to take a class, instead of having a session, because it sounded...wonderfully strange.

Without knowing it, my search for peace of mind was actually a search for truth and meaning. I had began a quest for my life purpose, which started with experiences of profound shifts in my perceptions, deeper curiosity about life and human function, and understanding the interconnectedness of all things.

In the process of awakening, many discover practices like energy healing and meditation, which aid in expanding our consciousness. Such practices allow us to connect with our inner wisdom and gain clarity on our unique life paths. As we go deeper, we often realize that a sense of purpose is not a destination but an ongoing journey involving various expressions of life experiences that each contribute to understanding ourselves, lives, and the cosmos in more profound ways. Understanding our life purpose involves embracing the mystery of life itself, allowing us to continue exploring the unknown, reconsider what we think is known, and find the grace of learning and healing through it all.

The Role of Meditation in Self-Discovery

Meditation has become one of my favorite practices and experiences. If I could only practice one thing in this realm of spirituality, I would choose meditation without thinking twice. It offers a powerful way of feeling peace in body and mind, observing our innermost thoughts and feelings, and not attaching to any of it. It teaches us the art of surrender and reconnecting to our bodies and breath with reverence and awe. Meditation gives us direct experience of being connected to earth and cosmic - being separate from no thing. Through regular practice, it helps unveil insights into our life purpose, or the purpose of life, by moving us into states of clarity, peace, and an enhanced sense of awareness through presence.

Yes, our state of mind is key, but meditation goes beyond calming the mind; it is a profound process of tuning into the deeper frequencies of your being. When you meditate, you create a sacred space to observe every aspect of you - your thoughts, feelings, and energy - how you feel in body, what needs nurturing, the nature of your thoughts and space to see and understand things differently.

Studies have shown that individuals who meditate regularly report a greater sense of well-being. Meditation isn't just a state of observation, it supports observing your thoughts without judgment, shedding light on aspects of yourself that are calling for attention and transformation. Over time, meditation helps align your daily actions with your core values, assisting in the manifestation of living in ways that feel purposeful, one mindful step at a time.

One of the greatest benefits of meditation is its ability to help you become more present in your life. Being an Aquarius, I'm inclined to live in my head, thinking about what's next - presence was foreign to me. When I first heard about grounding and being able to focus the attention of the mind on...nothing...now...I was up for the challenge, and it took lots of reconditioning. I practiced everyday until I fell in love with being in meditation, and it didn't take long for me to recognize the peace could be extended beyond the sitting practice - my mind was changing...my relationship to mind was changing. The practice of presence allowed me to be more receptive to the signs and synchronicities that made every experience feel full of purpose.

Another cherry on top, as you develop a meditation practice, you may notice an increased ability to tap into intuitive insights, leading to a more profound understanding of how your guiding yourself forward in meaningful ways.
