The eruptions of change within collective consciousness are making it more challenging to maintain clarity and presence of mind. This is also causing a sense of disassociation for many, or a hard time focusing at any given moment. Self-connection and being able to intentionally focus contributes to our peace in being and trusting the way forward.

Meditation is an incredible tool to support mind management, but if you want to understand the energy your dancing with, or more clarity around specific areas of your life, oracle cards provide a unique way to explore our inner-now and the energy we hold around various circumstances. I created The Energetic Alchemist Oracle for this reason, so let's talk about how the cards can help enhance presence of mind, dismantle confusion, and support feeling more inner peace.

Understanding Oracle Cards: A Brief Overview

Oracle cards can be used for divination, meditation, self-reflection, altar work, and energetic alchemy. Unlike tarot cards, there isn't a fixed structure or system across all decks. Oracle provides more flexibility and freedom in use and interpretation.

Exploring the history of oracle cards, various cultures have utilized similar tools to connect with the unseen realms, access higher wisdom, and translate intuitive messaging. The cards are often colorful and full of symbolism, each deck uniquely themed to highlight different elements and energies. This open-ended concept makes them perfect for energy-healers, empaths, intuitives...anyone interested in learning the language of their own intuitive nature. I have found oracle and tarot to be incredible tools for personal exploration, revealing blind spots, accessing new perspectives, and enhancing personal reflection.

When you pick an oracle card, you're encouraged to soften, moving out of the analytical mind and into observation. You're meant to allow the card(s) to "speak", having an awareness of what comes forward through all levels of your sensory when you connect with the energy of the card and/or imagery. This activity also makes oracle cards a potent resource for those seeking to enhance their spiritual practices or daily rituals. Reading or meditating with oracle is an invitation to pause and engage with your unconscious mind, illuminating pathways of new perspectives and encouraging a deeper understanding of yourself and surrounding situations.

The Power of Presence: Using Oracle Cards for Clarity

Presence of mind is essential for self-management, living more fully, and experiencing life with more clarity. Oracle cards, with their visual and symbolic elements, help us pause and reflect, bringing us into deeper relationship with our inner-now. Instead of worrying about the past or future, you can become familiar with reflecting on what you're feeling, experiencing, and/or thinking now...and how your expression is impacting you now...and which opportunities are available to you now.

It has become popular to talk about being present, but for many it seems impossible. And the truth is that there is more than one way to direct our minds, and every option isn't for everyone. If you don't like traditional meditation, or if you just like having options for your meditative process, drawing and contemplating on an oracle card can bring you sharply into the present moment. When you engage with a card, you can slip into different brainwave activity, allowing the mind to slow down and focus, making you more receptive to higher vision and knowing. This is how oracle work can create space away from past regrets and future anxieties, focusing instead on what's happening within and around you now...your inner-now. This practice cultivates a relationship to mindfulness that can anchor you, providing clarity and calm amid the chaotic pacing and projections within the collective. Many practitioners and readers of oracle and tarot suggest that working with cards can enhance your presence of mind by rooting you in curiosity, understanding, new potentials, and inviting a deeper, more honest interaction with yourself.

Each reading becomes a reflective mirror, offering insight into what might be clouding your judgment, activating your bias, fears, and worries. Oracle can reveal your patterns and stories, exposing the true essence of your energetic resonance and WHY. Then, after highlighting what is, you can also examine which steps (or new perspectives) will support mental clarity. Working with oracle and tarot are acts of energetic alchemy.

As you shuffle the cards, you inherently project your questions, desires, and impressions of uncertainty or confusion. This direction of mind and energetic expression invites the universe to speak through symbols and messages. In a way, this can be seen as a conversation with your higher-self, tapping into higher vision and offering perspectives that might otherwise remain hidden through habitual suppression and in the distractions of daily life.

In case you're unaware, this is not just predictive work. In fact, my focus in teaching intuitive development and how to read oracle cards is to teach you how to become a conscious energetic alchemist, magician, oracle, healer - how to access clarity of mind, true understanding, and cultivate a useful relationship with your higher-self.

Wearing Crystals for Intentional Energetic Resonance

Crystals have been cherished for centuries, not only for their beauty, but also for their purported energies and healing properties. When I first started exploring Reiki, crystals were also spoken of as tools to support energetic balance. Crystals were also said to be expressions of consciousness that could amplify the type of energy I wanted to work with and even help with working with others in sessions.

Honestly, whenever I saw someone wearing a crystal pendant, I assumed they worked in the realm of mystical arts, but I had no idea that what they were wearing was much more than a pretty stone. I didn't know that they were imbuing their own energetic resonance with the help of what I now consider to be wearable magic.

In this blog, I'm sharing what my experiences have been with crystals, but I also have a surprise for those who love crystal bracelets, and Reiki Practitioners who want to amplify intention around their practice.

Understanding the Energy of Crystals

Crystals are fascinating objects, not just for their physical beauty, but also due to the belief in their unique energetic properties. Each crystal is said to have its own vibrational frequency that can interact with the energy fields around it. This idea stems from the structure of the crystals themselves, which consist of tightly packed molecules in a repeating pattern. This structure is believed to affect the electromagnetic fields around them. For example, quartz crystals are known to generate an electric charge under physical pressure, a phenomenon called piezoelectricity. This same property allows crystals to oscillate at precise frequencies, which is the reason they're used in watches and other precision instruments.

The color and composition of a crystal can also influence its energy. Chemically, crystals are composed of different minerals, and these variations can affect how they vibrate energetically. For instance, carnelian, red in hue, is associated with vitality. On the other hand, turquoise, a calming light-blue, is considered a stone for healing. Recognizing these subtle energies can make a big difference when selecting crystals to resonate with your personal intentions and energetic frequencies.

Science acknowledges that everything has a frequency, including humans. When our frequencies are disrupted by stress or illness, it is believed that the energy of crystals can help bring us back into balance. The resonant effects of crystals can remind us of the natural harmony that exists within us when we are physically, emotionally, and spiritually aligned. It's similar to how a musical instrument can be tuned by vibration. Our body's energy systems can be influenced by these natural stones, guiding us toward a more harmonious state. And even beyond energetic harmony, crystals are often used to amplify energies of protection, manifestation, and nuanced aspects of our own consciousness, such as our frequencies around relationship energy.

Choosing Crystals to Align with Your Intentions

The first crystals I ever purchased was when I attended a crystal party. A woman was there to give a small lecture about the various crystals and their associated properties, and I chose a few based on color and resonance. I didn't feel anything in obvious ways, but I was drawn to a few pieces of double-terminated fluorite (known for balancing, focus, and protection), and an apophyllite cluster (known to assist with spiritual awakening). Later I purchased selenite online because I was told it could be used to clear the energies of environments and other crystals. Again, I didn't feel anything emanating from the crystals, but I placed them in my Reiki room on good faith.

A year or so later, my friend invited me to a crystal store. We went to The Philosopher's Stone, in San Diego, a small space glittering with earth's treasures. When I walked in, the energy of the space was palpable! I could feel my body responding to frequencies, interacting with the crystals, and I was stuck in awe. I was a little overwhelmed and very curious, as I was directly experiencing how powerful crystals are, energetically, and finally understanding why people worked with and wore them.

As I learned from the shop owner, choosing the right crystal is an intuitive process. You can start by identifying the intentions you wish to focus on, or you can trust how you feel guided or called towards specific stones. For example, if you are seeking protection against lower energies, you might consider using black tourmaline, or if you're after clarity and personal insight, clear quartz might be your stone of choice, as it's believed to amplify any energy or intention.

The selection process often involves a combination of intuition and knowledge. Sometimes a crystal will simply "call out to you", a phenomenon that can be attributed to your body's natural affinity for certain energies. I seem to be very drawn to apophyllite, as I have been called to this so many times that I now have a small collection. However, exploring various options and feeling the energy they emit can also help guide your choice. It's always a good idea to research the unique properties and traditional uses of each crystal. This way, you're better prepared to make an informed decision on which stones are most appropriate for your specific needs.

It's important to note that the energy of a crystal can vary depending on how it is used or combined with other stones. For instance, when amethyst and rose quartz are paired together, they are often used to enhance emotional healing and intentions around love. This combination is popular for improving one's emotional relationships and creating a deeper connection with oneself. Because of the number of crystals and stones to choose from, I recommend doing research or investing in a book, such as, Crystal Basics: Pocket Encyclopedia, by Nicholas Pearson (he actually has several crystal books to choose from).

Incorporating Crystals into Your Daily Life

Integrating crystals into everyday life can be as simple or as elaborate as you wish. Wearing them as jewelry is one of the most effective methods, ensuring their vibrations remain close to your body throughout the day. In fact, when I went to the crystal store, I was drawn to fluorite again, but I bought it in the form of a pendant so that I could understand the energy with more clarity.

Now, especially with the influence of social media, crystals have become wildly popular, commonly talked about, worked with and worn. Whether it's a bracelet, necklace, or ring, having that direct contact with your body can help maintain a continual flow of energy and improve the likelihood of achieving your desired outcomes.

Crystals and Reiki: A Powerful Synergy

After many years of practice and personal experiences, I realize how Reiki and crystals are easily interwoven, with many practitioners using stones to enhance their healing techniques and to create sacred space. Practices within the system of Reiki involve the harmoniously flow of universal life force energy to promote balance and wellbeing of heart-mind intelligence, and body. Crystals, with their unique energy signatures, can be used to amplify the effects of Reiki, and support the energetic resonance of the practitioner.

The use of crystals while practicing Reiki has become common because of the synergy, and for many it creates more of a transformative experience. For instance, placing crystals around the treatment area may deepen relaxation and help receivers engage more fully in the healing process. Some practitioners believe that combining these two practices can address deeper energetic levels, providing clarity and a sense of peace that enhances the healing journey. The intentional use of crystals during Reiki sessions, and daily life, is an opportunity to harness and amplify ancient wisdom to support our overall wellbeing.

Cleansing and Charging Your Crystals

Regular cleansing and charging are essential to maintaining the effectiveness of your crystals. Just like our own minds and bodies, crystals can absorb energies over time, which need to be cleared to restore their natural frequencies. Traditional methods of cleansing include leaving them under sunlight or moonlight to naturally recharge them with celestial energy. Some individuals prefer to use running water, meditation, or smudging techniques to renew their stones. Since every stone and crystal has unique properties, it's best to research how to cleanse them individually. For example, selenite is water soluble, so you don't want to cleanse with liquid, and amethyst may loose color in direct sunlight.

Charging your crystals involves enhancing their natural energies, which can be done by setting intentions, using other stones, and yes...using Reiki. With consistent care and attention, your crystals can continue to be wonderful companions that support your energy work and aligning with personal intentions.

Harnessing the Power of Crystals for a Balanced Life

Again, wearing crystals can be a powerful way to align your energy with your intentions and to amplify energetic alchemy. By choosing the right crystals and understanding their properties, you can tap into an ancient practice that enhances not only your personal wellbeing, but also your understanding of energy. Whether you're an experienced practitioner or new to the world Reiki and of crystals, embracing their energies can open up transformative pathways that introduce you to their roles as teachers and ally's.
